roller skater

by Anna Thornley

My mouth is itchy
It’s always itchy
when I’m getting a cold
I can't stop sneezing
and I probably deserve it
On my run I saw a man
roller skating
so gracefully
he made no sound at all
and I would’ve thought
it was completely effortless
if not for the sweat stain
that painted his back
and wrapped around his sides
like a hug
